state of the gui girl

Debating the next change in my life:  Keep freelancing?  Go full-time?  There have not been many times in my life where I have been so indecisive.  Sometimes change is forced on you, and you either adapt and roll with it, or you are stubborn and fight against it AND THEN resign yourself to the idea that you must accept it.

What about the times that you don’t have changed forced on you, but rather presented. A fork in the road?  And when your priorities are challenged (make more money? spend more time with baby? work more/fewer hours?), how does that make the decision easier?

It doesn’t.

  • We Interrupt Guest Author Week To Inform You That Chris Has Had a Corndog.

    And he liked it.
The man you are looking at in the picture below I once had to SHAME into trying a blueberry.  Begged him. Bribed him. Even mocked him.
And now, look how far he has come: An Ohio State Fair corndog.
Honey, I’m so proud of you.  And the reason I’m giving you such a hard […]

Just for the grandparents...and others who might like to see gratuitous pictures of my firstborn.

  • Happy Anniversary, Gramma and PawPaw

Just wanted to wish you a happy 37th year together, but Reese took the phone away from me.
I’m sure if my pediatrician saw this post, she’d probably give me hell for this little Squirt and her tight grasp on the remote.
Note: She’s still using her left hand…

  • Labor Day POTD: The Girls Recline on “Pillow Island”

We ladies of Winthrop Manor built our Pillow Island, and lo, we reclined.

  • Happy Birthday, Oma!

The Little Girl has learned a new trick this weekend.
Imagine that moment when Snoopy, in a moment of despair, opens his mouth wide, shuts his eyes tight, and bellows the most pitiful “BLAAAAAAAAAAaaaahhhhhhh” sound.
Yeah, Reese can do that now.  And some of my past colleagues *KNOW EXACTLY* what I’m talking about with this sound.
    You guys, […]
