Pwned.

I’m going to start the new year off right.

Cool Thing of the Month: One of my new colleagues came across a site that allows you to create your own South Park character. I haven’t actually watched SP that much since I was in college, but I did have a blast building my own character. And as you may have suspected… I built my character in my own image (I guess I’m just that self-absorbed). I’m not sure why I added the Wolverine style claws… latent mutant envy?

I tag thee Kim, Frizzle, The Gang at E-Lah…the challenge is on! Create Your Own South Park Character Now!

We’ve been doing this at the Apple Store for months. We have a sales leader whiteboard in the back, and each month, instead of posting a sad, wobbly, iSight photo of the person who gets a particular sales award, we post their South Park character instead. It is pretty amusing.
Our creative team created characters for nearly everyone, but alas, since I don’t having cunning sales-fu, they have yet to create one for me.
I want to do one of my own – it’s always been a thing for my to-do list, in between solving world peace, and… oh yeah, getting that plasma TV.

Oh, and BTW – happy New Year, etc.

Aha! Well my friend, I have often relied on you to have your finger on the pulse of what is hip (because dammit, I don’t have time to keep up!). Where has my dear Punchy been, besides working his tail feathers off?

I think it’s high time you provide your SP character, or else….I’ll out you as a cultural poser! Or not.

    (psst, *I’m* the poser!)

Oh yeah, and I want your most current playlist… your taste in music has always appealed to me…and I think I still have your RT “Old Kit Bag” album!

Yeah, I was working both jobs almost every day pretty much through New Year’s. So I have been pretty incommunicado. After this weekend, things will throttle down a bit.

(psst, I *know* you’re the poser. It’s OK.)

We actually got an e-mail to update (for some, I guess it would be, ahem, create) our SP character. Apparently some people’s characters looked a little too inappropriate for the board (too many weapons, crazed Red Bull fueled stares, smoking, etc)

As for what I’m listening to:
    - First Queens Of The Stone Age record (scary that it’s now 10 years old, but still absolutely rocks)
    - Aimee Mann Christmas record (most excellent)
    - Over The Rhine Christmas record (again, terrific, saw them live *years* ago, but really only started listening to their stuff in earnest recently)
    - Isis, In The Absence Of Truth (saw them when they opened for Tool last fall, best band I’ve discovered in the past couple of years)
    - Tim Finn, Imaginary Kingdom (duh.)
    - New Pornographers, Twin Cinema/new live album (show I regret missing most last year was them at the Newport; Terrific power pop, and Neko Case to boot.)
    - Peeping Tom, self-titled (Mike Patton of Faith No More’s solo record, this was arc-welded into my car’s CD player for most of the summer)
    - Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, Shake The Sheets (kind of late to the party on this one, record’s almost two years old.)
    - Also: new Decemberists, lots of old Zappa records (mostly the late 70/early 80s stuff), Twilight Singers, the Beatles remix record (Love), Black Mountain, Truckfighters (I listen to an awful lot of stoner rock, for someone who doesn’t toke), and the new(ish) Teddy Thompson CD (again, duh.)

Remember, I still have a 2nd copy of Old Kit Bag at home, so again, don’t worry about it! (I still have yet to buy the 5.1 surround version).
