The Crux Of My Costume…For Those Who Wanted To See

Yes. Yes, all those articles of clothing reside in my closet.  Though a pair of my funky socks had to die for my “sleeves” as you might see in other photos. 2 kinds of fishnet stockings, 2 tank tops, 3 skirts, and 2 belts.
DIY. I live thee and love thee.

So quick quest… as a full time working mother, asking another full time working mother…how do you de-stress?!? I am a first time mom and I find no time for me. I am trying to come to terms with this new reality, but struggle to find little things that will help to make the weight of stress more bearable. What are your coping mechanisms?!? :O)

Hi Jen! As far as de-stressing… it was much harder when Reese was small to get away for enough time to decompress (on account of the near constant nursing). Let’ just say I wasn’t all sweetness and light for a large part of her first six months.

However, I find it easier now that she’s older to find time, even in its smallest measure. I just recently went back to work full time, and I have found since that actually going back to a structured environment helps me relax a little more.

Also, helps to have a husband (or some supporting actor) that will take over child care for a few hours so that Mommy can get a little “me time”.

Coping mechanisms: walking, dogparks, coffee breaks with friends, and The Martini Club (themartiniclub.ning.com) all help to remind me that life will eventually return to some sort of normal.
